URGENT NEEDS

The Brethren in San Gregorio are in great need of a new Church building.  At present their building has structure damage, a large crack runs from wall to wall and across the ceiling.  This damage could very easily be the cause of the building caving in if some heavy rain or earthquake hits the area.  The total cost of the construction of the new building is $1,400.00.  The brethren will be putting in the labor of construction and are currently making the adobe bricks as we write this request.

The congregation in Somoto has grown so rapidly in the last last year that it no longer can house its members when they meet.  Several people who have visited our brethren during worship services have told them that they would  like to return but because of the lack of space they would much rather wait until we build our new Church building.  It really sadden me when I heard this, but I personally can attest to this situation because I have been in attendance on Sunday mornings and there is no room to accommodate the visitors.  I gave up my seat on two occasions for someone else that was visiting the congregation.  Now, the total of this construction will be $7,500.00.  The brethren have pledged to put in $4,500.00 in labor and in some materials.  We need to cover the rest of the money which is $3,500.00.

First and foremost I want to ask for your prayers that these new building get done and if you could  help us make this possible please don't hesitate in doing so.  This does not seem much by our standards but it means a whole lot to them

Dear Brethren,

I have finally received the Estimate Purposal that I had asked brother Antonio Granera to send me regarding the rebuilding or restructing of the Church bldg. in San Gregorio, Murra.  Brethren this old building is in dire need of repair due to tremors, heavy rains and deterioration of the building. It was reported to me when I was last there in April of this year that the building had a crack in the middle of its structure, which presented a problem of it caving in.  I hope you will find it in your hearts to help me help these brethren rebuild their old building.  The Church there is growing and will certainly be in great need of this new building.  Thank you for any and all support that you will give this request.  By the way, brother Ernesto who will be over this construction is the brother whom we baptized this past summer and who used to be the preacher for a Pentecostal church.  We have also baptized his wife as well, they are both very strong and active brethren in the Church.
If anyone has any questions on this please call on me at anytime.

The translation of brother Antonio's letter is as follows:

ESTIMATION FROM THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IN SAN GREGORIO MURRA
May God whom we serve bless you always, this is the list of materials, that I present to you, for an identical building of the one we have in San Gregorio, it is of 5m in the width and 6.70m of length.  For this construccion they are going to utilize 700 adobe bricks each one has a cost of 5 cordobas, the total of 700 adobe bricks is 3,500 cordobas, in dollars it is $170.73, but this, the Church will assume the cost and also the labor of the help, the cost of the adobe bricks yoU will not have to buy.
Material:  Cost in dollars:
8m of sand......... $99.89
35 bags of cement...... $375.60
16 alfajillas of 2 x 4 x 14..... $78.48
16 clavador of 2 x 2 x 14..... $49.28
6 bigas of 4 x 4 x 14.... $175.60
3 doors of 84cm wide x 204 cm of height....................... $246.34
labor......................... $ 390,24

As the brethren compromised to help brother Ernesto, he is charging them the quantity of $390.24, we will be saving $300.66, this is a great blessing in that  brother Ernesto will be helping us a lot in this construccion.

TOTAL OF EXPENSES:  $1.400,15
In this work I committed myself with the brethren to help so that the estimate would be a little lower.  The doors have a higher cost, but brother Ernesto committed himself to take his tools to build the doors himself in San Gregorio and the cost of the labor  brother Ernesto will charge them, because he explained to me that this construction will take a month to complete and in for his work he will have to travel 8 times that will include 4 passages of going there and 4 passages of return, so you see brother, the Colaboration of brother Ernesto is a big one.  And brother remember  to send me the reference number of the account.  God Bless you my brother.

Antonio Granera.

AREAS TO BE FINANCED

   1.  We are currently looking for property to purchase for a church bldg for the congregation in Somoto.  They have outgrown the house where they are currently worshiping.  Once we purchase property we will need to buy materials for constructing the church building.

     2.  We need to sponsor Evangelistic Campaigns on a monthly basis.  These campaigns are held in our congregations for 3 days.  These campaigns have proven to be very successful in bringing souls to Christ.  For example, the last one we had was in Ocotal for 2 days with a result of 11 baptisms and 4 restorations.  Praise God!

     3.  We are currently making plans to work in the River Bocay with the Mayagnas people who live across a 60 mile stretch that consist of 17 villages.  These people are of an indigenous culture and are in great need of medical attention, not to mention spiritual help.  We have been given the blessing of taking charge of 4 schools with the grades from 7-9.  We will need to sponsor approximately 3-4 teachers in each school, with support of $105.00 per teacher.  This is a wonderful opportunity for us in that the curriculum we will be teaching will be through the lessons taught from the Bible.

  4.  We need to publish 2,000 new bibles for the Mayangnas people, on the River Bocay.  We will use these bibles to teach the children and their families the word of God.

There are so many more cases of benevolent needs such as, food for families, medical cases for operations, medications, we also need bibles and hymns for congregations, etc, etc, etc.

If you can, please give to make one or some of these a reality for them.

Thank you for your prayers and support,

All For His Glory,

David T. Ramirez, Sr.
