This Mission work was originally started in 1981 by my
brother, Manuel Ramirez. He oversaw it
until his death in July 1995.
Brother Manuel would take up to 3-4 weeks vacation to travel
to Honduras to do personal work with different congregations there and hold
campaign meetings.
He was sponsored by our congregation, Fresno Spanish Church
of Christ.
Fresno Spanish Church of Christ merged with the Arlington
Heights Church of Christ, who then overlooked the work.
Our brother Manuel Ramirez brought many souls to Christ with
his dedicated work of fourteen years in this wonderful Work. His service also consisted of many benevolent
cases of helping out Brethren in need.
In the summer of 1994, my brother Manuel was diagnosed with
stomach cancer, this news came just as he returned from Honduras. Bro. Manuel asked me to take over the Mission
Work before his death.
In the summer of 1995, he accompanied me to Honduras, and
introduced me to the Work there, all the while being very ill with the disease.
He passed away two weeks upon our return from Honduras on
July 15, 1995.
